Job summary

Woof Gang Bakery Fleming Island is seeking a caring individual to start a career in the grooming industry. No experience needed; paid training covers safety, bathing, drying, ear cleaning, nail trims, and filing. Apprenticeship progresses into a Pet Stylist role over 6–12 months.

Duties include grooming, bathing, ear care, nail trimming, brushing, and customer service. Must be 18+, have HS diploma, and be willing to undergo background checks. Full‑time position with benefits.

Woof Gang Bakery Fleming Island is currently seeking a caring and compassionate individual interested in a career in the grooming industry. Are you looking to learn a new career as a Pet Groomer? No experience or equipment is needed! Our ideal candidate has compassion for animals & attention to detail.

Paid Training includes safety training, pet bathing, drying techniques, ear cleaning, nail trims, and filing, with progression into learning the essentials of pet grooming as each individual skill is mastered. This apprenticeship program includes hands‑on experience with a progression into a career as a Pet Stylist. This program typically takes between 6 months to 1 year to complete.

Duties include:

• Pet dog grooming, bathing/drying
• Cleaning ears, plucking ears, depressing glands
• Nail trimming & filing
• Brushing/combing, deshedding
• Laundry & general upkeep of tools/equipment
• Customer service

Groomer Apprentice Requirements

• Must be a patient, caring, passionate dog lover with an interest in a career as a pet groomer.
• Must have compassion and patience with animals.
• Must bring a great attitude to work and possess a friendly positive attitude.
• Prior employment working as a bather, grooming assistant or veterinarian assistant is preferred but not necessary.
• Stamina to bathe, dry, and groom several dogs a day including lifting large dogs.
• Must have open availability to work full time including weekends.
• Must be willing to learn grooming skills and accept positive criticism.
• Must maintain a clean and healthy appearance and environment for clients.
• Must have a great work ethic, be organized, reliable with great attention to detail.
• Must be over 18 yr old and have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check and/or drug screening.
