The Groomer is a commission-based position within the Resort and reports directly to the General Manager. A successful candidate will embrace this culture, be a team player, self-motivated, take direction well, have excellent communication skills, and great attention to detail. Experience grooming or bathing all breeds of dogs and cats is essential. The primary responsibility is to ensure all pets receive a professional-quality groom that meets or exceeds client requests without compromising their health.

A Day In The Life

This role is vital for our pets and their owners. You’ll help keep pets healthy and happy through grooming, bathing, and sometimes emergency cleaning. You will interact with pets and their owners, document observations, and may notice health issues early. Expect to get fur on you, give lots of kisses, and handle pets with care.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive grooming experience, ensuring safety, comfort, and reassurance.
• Complete grooming or bathing as per client requests on time.
• Schedule appointments, manage client information, and discuss grooming instructions and health concerns.
• Maintain grooming tools and workspace cleanliness.
• Monitor pet health during grooming and report concerns.
• Follow safety procedures, including handling aggressive or escape-prone pets.
• Adhere to pricing guidelines and communicate effectively with clients and staff.
• Assist in department coordination and maintain proper pet identification.

Team Qualities

• Physically capable of handling dogs of all sizes and lifting up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

Education: Certifications preferred but not required.

Experience: 2-4 years professional grooming experience preferred; knowledge of breed standards and proper grooming techniques.
