The Groomer is a commission-based position within the Resort, reporting directly to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, receptive to feedback, possess excellent communication skills, and have great attention to detail. Passion for animal care and customer service is essential, along with experience grooming or bathing all breeds of dogs and cats. The primary responsibility is to deliver professional-quality grooming that meets or exceeds client expectations without compromising the pet's physical or emotional health.

A Day In The Life

This role is vital for our pets and their owners. You will help keep pets healthy and happy through grooming, which includes working with reservations, walk-ins, and boarding guests. Tasks involve performing full grooms, baths, touch-ups, and handling emergencies like accidents. You will communicate with pet owners, document observations, and sometimes identify health concerns. Expect to get involved in cleaning up after pets and interacting affectionately with them.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive grooming experience emphasizing compassion, safety, and comfort.
• Complete grooms or baths as per client requests on time.
• Coordinate scheduling with Resort Hosts and manage client records and vaccination protocols.
• Meet with clients to discuss grooming instructions and provide post-groom reports. Suggest additional services when appropriate.
• Respond promptly to calls and emails, reschedule appointments to grow your business.
• Resolve customer service issues effectively.
• Maintain grooming tools and equipment regularly.
• Notify management of supply needs.
• Ensure workspace cleanliness and sanitation, including disinfecting drying rooms and cleaning floors.
• Monitor pet health during grooming and report concerns.
• Ensure pets have access to water and bathroom breaks during long appointments.
• Follow safety procedures, especially with aggressive or escape-prone animals.
• Adhere to pricing policies and obtain approval for additional charges.
• Use proper pet identification procedures.
• Assist with laundry and communicate with other departments as needed.

Qualifications
