Job summary

All About Animals Pet Clinic in the United States is seeking a part-time Groomer. You will provide grooming services, tailoring each groom to breed standards and client preferences while ensuring pet comfort and safety.

The role emphasizes low-stress handling, clear client communication, and collaboration with the veterinary team. As part of a woman-owned, independent practice, you will help grow the grooming department, maintain high care standards, and participate in ongoing learning

Qualifications

• Professional grooming experience or certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Safe animal handling and attention to pet comfort.
• Strong communication, time management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform active role involving standing, lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, hand scissoring, coat shaping, and deshedding.
• Tailor each groom to breed standards, coat condition, client preferences, and pet comfort and safety.
• Perform nail trims, ear cleaning, sanitary trims and other services as appropriate.
• Discuss grooming requests and health concerns with clients and coordinate pickup times.
• Use low-stress handling and communicate signs of pain, illness, or unusual behavior to the medical team.
• Provide medicated baths and medically directed grooming when instructed.
• Maintain grooming notes and educate clients on maintenance and schedules.
• Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with bathers, client services, and the vet team; help train staff when assigned.

Commission-based pay structure. Compensation is based on experience, production, responsibilities, and skill set.

SCHEDULE

Part-time, Wednesday-Saturday.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide professional grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, hand scissoring, coat shaping, and deshedding.
• Tailor each groom to breed standards, coat condition, client preferences, and the pet's comfort and safety.
• Perform nail trims, ear cleaning, sanitary trims, and other services as appropriate and within your training.
• Discuss grooming requests and health concerns with clients, set clear expectations, and coordinate pickup times.
• Use patient, low-stress handling whenever possible and promptly communicate signs of pain, illness, skin or ear concerns, or unusual behavior to the medical team.
• Provide medicated baths and medically directed grooming services when instructed.
• Maintain accurate grooming notes and help clients understand brushing, coat maintenance, and recommended grooming schedules.
• Keep grooming tools, equipment, and work areas clean, disinfected, and organized.
• Collaborate with bathers, client services, and the veterinary team; help train grooming support staff when assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional grooming experience and/or grooming certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Safe animal handling skills and attention to pet comfort and behavior.
• Strong communication, time management, and attention to detail.
• Comfort learning electronic records, grooming scheduling software, and team communication tools.
• Ability to perform an active role involving extended standing and walking, bending, kneeling, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance.

Helpful, but not required:

• Previous veterinary experience.
• Experience with anxious, fearful, or medically complex pets.
• Customer service or hospitality experience.
• Experience in a busy grooming or veterinary environment.
