Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring Pet Food / Protein Laborers in Mt. Pleasant, TX to support protein and pet food operations. The role involves operating machinery, performing manual labor, and maintaining safety and quality standards in a USDA-regulated environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, poultry or food-industry experience is a plus, and the ability to work in cool temperatures for long shifts while collaborating with teammates.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience: Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
• Skills: Ability to multitask and work quickly, have good communication skills, ability to comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense, and must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations.
• Physical requirements: Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees), ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Process product according to established procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
• Observe equipment operation and report malfunctions or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist team members by sharing knowledge and skills gained from the position.
• Follow all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and teamwork.
• Recognize and act on safety risks; consistently practice and enforce safe work habits.
• Participate in process improvement and problem-solving using continuous improvement methods.
• Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Process poultry products using tools, manual labor, and equipment according to USDA and Pilgrim’s standards.
• Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety, food safety, and animal welfare guidelines.
• Support team members by sharing skills and knowledge while promoting a positive work atmosphere.
• Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet production and quality goals.
• Demonstrate flexibility by performing tasks in different areas of production as needed.

Position Overview

Pet Food / Protein Laborers are responsible for operating machinery, performing manual labor, and supporting production processes in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency.

What You’ll Need:
