Job summary

Mars Petcare North America is seeking a senior scientist to provide expertise in palatability, flavor delivery, and product performance across dry, wet, and care & treats pet foods.

You will lead palatability research programs, collaborate with internal/external teams, and drive knowledge transfer to regional platforms while ensuring high scientific and quality standards. A Masters is required; a PhD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a Masters in food science/chemistry or related field.
• PhD in food science/chemistry or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead palatability research projects and programs aligned with key stakeholders.
• Provide input on stability and critical success factors to ensure Mars internal guidelines.
• Identify knowledge gaps in pet food palatability and related scientific areas.
• Identify opportunities for collaborative research with internal and external teams.
• Supervise projects and workstreams led by other research scientists in pet food palatability areas.
• Involve in global knowledge transfer activities with global functional teams.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Own the regional Mars product performance system planning, execution and reporting.
