Job summary

New York Imaging (NYI) is seeking a PET/CT Technologist (Float) per diem to support our Suffolk County operations. You will administer radiopharmaceuticals, perform patient imaging, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic quality and patient safety.

The ideal candidate holds NMTCB and/or ARRT-N certification, NYS licensure, and at least 2 years of experience. This per diem role offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits when assigned.

Qualifications

• Diploma from NMTCB program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certification as NMTCB and/or ARRT-N.
• Active New York State License.
• At least 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer radioactive compounds for imaging procedures.
• Perform patient imaging using radiation-detecting equipment.
• Process and enhance images using advanced computer systems.
• Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.
• Monitor patients during scans and report abnormalities.
• Perform complex PET exams and consult radiologists for procedures.
• Build patient confidence by taking history, explaining procedures, and answering questions.
• Maintain ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment.
• Optimize imaging protocols for diagnostic-quality images while minimizing dose.
• Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure regulatory compliance.

Education

Diploma from NMTCB program (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
