Job summary

New York Imaging (NYI) is seeking a PET/CT Technologist Float for East, NY. The role involves administering tracer compounds, performing imaging, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while keeping radiation exposure safe.

You will collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to deliver accurate data and patient care. Requirements include NMTCB program completion with NY licensure, 2+ years of experience, and ARRT/NMTCB CT certifications.

Qualifications

• NMTCB-certified program completion, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• NMTCB and/or ARRT-N certification required.
• Additional NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT) certifications preferred.
• Active New York State license.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nuclear medicine.

Responsibilities

• Administer radioactive compounds for imaging procedures.
• Perform patient imaging with radiation-detecting equipment.
• Process and enhance images using advanced computer systems.
• Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians.
• Monitor patient conditions during scans and report abnormalities.
• Perform complex PET exams and consult radiologists for procedures.
• Build patient confidence by obtaining history and explaining procedures.
• Monitor physical condition during procedures and note diagnostic comments.
• Maintain safety measures to minimize radiation exposure.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment.
• Follow ALARA principles and optimize imaging protocols.
• Participate in quality control and QA activities.

Job Description:

PET/CT Technologist(Float)

Location: East, NY (Float)

Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)

In This Role, You Will:

• Administer radioactive chemical compounds for imaging procedures.
• Perform patient imaging using sophisticated radiation-detecting equipment.
• Process and enhance images using advanced computer systems.
• Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and reactions during scans, reporting any abnormalities to physicians.
• Perform complex PET exams and consult radiologists for appropriate scan procedures.
• Build patient confidence by obtaining medical history, explaining procedures, and addressing questions.
• Monitor patients’ physical conditions during procedures and note any comments relevant to the diagnostic process.
• Maintain safety measures to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
• Maintain ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the environment.
• Optimize imaging protocols to achieve diagnostic-quality images while minimizing radiation dose.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies

We Require:

• Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) program (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N).
• Additional certifications: NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT).
• Active New York State License.
• At least 2 years of experience in the field.
