Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PET/CT Technologist for our Wilmington, NC facility. This full-time role involves producing high-quality PET/CT images, ensuring patient safety, and communicating clearly with patients and radiologists.

The candidate will work across multiple locations including freestanding centers and hospital settings. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification, state licensure, CPR, and flexibility to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or applicable experience.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT (N).
• State license as required.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver’s license if applicable.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Responsibilities

• Pre-screen patients for safety and radiation safety; document and handle radioactive materials properly.
• Produce high quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
• Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
• Train new technologists and/or PCs as needed.
• Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).
