Qualifications

Job description

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure, and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way. They demonstrate their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images and studies—enabling physicians to diagnose accurately and treat confidently. Working in various environments such as outpatient centers, mobile units, or hospital-based facilities, our technologists provide consistent imaging care at any access point.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and adherence to radiation safety regulations, including proper documentation when working with radioactive materials.
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, radiologists, and team members.
  • Training new technologists and support staff.
  • Troubleshooting scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license, as applicable.
  • CPR certification required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions when transporting patients on mobile units.
  • Exposure to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, lift and transfer patients.
