Qualifications

Job description

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure, and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way. They demonstrate their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders and instructions, selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce high-quality PET/CT images, and enabling physicians to diagnose accurately and treat confidently. Working in various environments—outpatient centers, mobile units, or hospital settings—our technologists provide flexible, top-tier imaging care at any access point.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and adherence to radiation safety regulations, including proper documentation when working with radioactive materials.
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, radiologists, and healthcare staff.
  • Training new technologists and/or support staff.
  • Troubleshooting scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).

Position requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State licensure as applicable.
  • CPR certification required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work across multiple locations.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Physical requirements:

  • Exposure to outside weather when transporting patients on mobile units.
  • Exposure to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand/arm/leg movements; communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting/moving patients.

Pay rate up to $75.00 per hour. We are open to discussing compensation based on individual circumstances, skills, experience, and organizational needs.
