Qualifications

Job description

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure, and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way. They demonstrate their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce high-quality PET/CT images, enabling physicians to diagnose accurately and treat confidently. Our technologists work in various environments—including outpatient centers, mobile units, and hospital-based facilities—allowing them to deliver excellent imaging care at any access point.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and radiation safety and documentation when working with radioactive materials.
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and radiologists.
  • Training new technologists and/or patient care staff.
  • Troubleshooting scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment, including monitors, PACS, and coils.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license, as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening are required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to outside weather when transporting patients on mobile units.
  • Potential exposure to radioactive isotopes, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand/arm/leg movements; communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, lift/move non-ambulatory patients.
