Qualifications

Job description

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure, and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way. They demonstrate their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce high-quality PET/CT images, enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. Working in various environments—a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility—our technologists deliver the best imaging care at any access point.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques, along with radiation safety and proper documentation when working with radioactive materials.
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and radiologists.
  • Training new technologists and/or PC's.
  • Troubleshooting scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment, including monitors, PACS, coils, etc.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license, as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to outside weather conditions when transporting patients on mobile units.
  • Exposure to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • More than 50% of the time: sitting, standing, walking, repetitive hand/arm/leg movements, communicating with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, and lifting/moving patients.
