Job summary

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, partnering with hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging and patient care close to home. The PET/CT Technologist position at the Leonardtown, MD Facility offers part-time scheduling and competitive benefits, with opportunities to cross-train and support multiple sites.

This role focuses on patient safety, high-quality image production, and collaboration with radiologists and care

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification.
  • State license as required.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree.
  • Preferred: 1–2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique.
  • Maintain radiation safety and regulations, documenting and using proper technique when working with radioactive materials and patients.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists.
  • Train new technologists and/or PCs.
  • Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (e.g., monitors, PACS, coils).

We are currently hiring for a PET/CT Technologist at our Leonardtown, MD Facility. This will be a Part Time position.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique.
  • Maintain radiation safety and regulations, documenting and using proper technique when working with radioactive materials and patients.
  • Produce high‑quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists.
  • Train new technologists and/or PCs.
  • Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (e.g., monitors, PACS, coils).
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N).
  • State license, as required.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience.
  • Preferred: 1‑2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies.
