Qualifications

• Completion of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology Program is required.
• Must be registered with NMTCB or ARRT (N) and obtain certification within time frame.
• Must possess an active license from the State of New York Department of Health.
• Must possess an active CT certification to perform diagnostic CT and PET-CT fusion imaging.
• Must have NYS CT contrast certification (which also requires BCLS).
• Maintains active Nuclear Medicine and CT licenses and BCLS; maintains competency through continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Complies with laws, regulations, and hospital policies governing nuclear medicine.
• Performs ordered PET examinations and ensures pre‑procedural preparation.
• Administers contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist guidance.
• Performs quality checks of equipment and documents radiation doses.
• Transfers and archives studies to PACS and imaging systems; provides images to reading room.
• Maintains patient care, safety and confidentiality per HIPAA and department standards.
