Job summary

K9 Resorts of Virginia Beach is seeking a Dog Care Technician to join our team. You will spend most of the day directly with dogs in daycare and boarding, providing loving, attentive care and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work flexible shifts including some weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes excellent communication, observational awareness, and teamwork in a fun, positive setting where dog lovers can grow

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and well-being of dogs in Daycare and Boarding.
• Maintain sanitation of accommodations and outdoor areas, baths, and daycare.
• Engage in personal playtimes with dogs and assist with handoffs to customers.

Pet Care Technicians are responsible for delivering on our core promises, cleanliness and compassionate care. This position spends the most time directly in contact with our furry friends. Someone in this position not only must love dogs, they must also be willing to "get down and dirty". Cleaning accommodations, giving dog baths and managing doggie daycare are all part of the daily routine. You must excel at communication and observation and possess a keen eye for detail.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for the health and well-being of dogs in Daycare and Boarding
• Responsible for the sanitation of all accommodations and outdoor areas, bathing, and monitoring large and small daycare
• Perform personal playtimes with private play dogs
• Bring dogs from daycare or boarding to customers, when needed

Job Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Has the ability work on their feet for 8 hours or more
• Schedule flexibility; availability for some weekend & holiday shifts
• Opening shift: Monday - Friday, 6am - 1:15pm; Saturday - Sunday, 7am - 1:15pm
• Closing shift: 1pm - 7:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience is preferred but not required
