Job summary

Animal Care Clinic in Bemidji, Minnesota, is seeking a Kennel Assistant to provide compassionate care for pets during grooming and boarding. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining cages, walking and feeding patients, and ensuring the comfort of pets in our care. Ideal candidates will have previous veterinary experience and the ability to lift pets as needed. We offer competitive pay of $15-$16 per hour, paid time off, health benefits, and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients over 25 pounds with assistance.
• Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provides great care for patients visiting the practice for grooming and/or boarding.
• Ensures patients are admitted noting the client’s specific instructions to ensure quality outcome.
• Observes patient’s appearance and activity for general physical condition.
• Regularly cleans, disinfects and maintains kennels, cages, runs and stalls.
• Walks patients several times a day to provide exercise.
