Job description

Who we are

Do you love being around animals and don’t mind getting a little fur on your clothes? We’re looking for a caring, dependable Kennel Attendant to help care for the pets in our facility. While we mostly work with dogs and cats, we’d love someone who’s comfortable and familiar with all kinds of furry (and maybe even feathery or scaly) friends!

In this role, you’ll be walking dogs, feeding our animal guests, cleaning kennels, and keeping our common areas tidy and welcoming. If you’ve spent time caring for animals—whether as a job, a volunteer, or just as a lifelong pet lover—you could be a great fit! You’ll also need to be able to keep up with some of our more energetic pups, so being physically active is a plus.

At Round Lake, we value employee wellbeing and offer great benefits, including:

  • Supplemental insurance, including accident, critical illness, hospital, short and long-term disability, legal plan, and employee, spouse, and child-dependent life insurance

  • Sick Time / Paid Time Off
  • Free/discounted lab work for all employee pets

What We’re Looking For:

  • A good understanding of animal behavior and basic care needs

  • The ability to safely handle animals and lift things like large bags of food or supplies

  • A friendly attitude and great communication skills—teamwork makes the dream work!

  • A genuine passion for animal welfare

  • Willingness to take direction from veterinarians and vet techs

  • Calm and gentle handling skills to keep pets feeling safe

  • Basic math and measuring skills (for food and medication)

  • Attention to detail for keeping accurate records of care, behavior, or any incidents

  • Availability to work weekends and holidays—we never take a day off from caring!

If you're the kind of person who talks to every dog you pass on the street and takes pride in a clean, happy environment for pets, we’d love to meet you!
