Job summary

Medical Management International, Inc. is seeking an engaged Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality pet care.

You will educate clients, obtain histories, and maintain accurate medical charts while ensuring a safe hospital environment. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures as allowed by state practice acts, mentoring paraprofessionals, and helping ensure patient comfort during hospitalization and recovery.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program, or equivalent education, training and experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform all required NAVTA level skills.
• Minimum of 18 years for duties involving radiography and radioactive substances.
• One year related experience, customer-service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality pet care.
• Assist with or prepare procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance.
• Educate clients on pet health and NAVTA guidelines.
• Obtain patient history and maintain medical charts.
• Ensure safe restraining techniques and clean, organized treatment areas.
