Responsibilities

• Independently perform full menu of bath and brush services.
• Suggest health and wellness solutions to pet parents.
• Suggest health and wellness solutions to pet parents based on pet needs.
• Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Take action when a sick or injured pet is identified; arrange transport to the veterinarian as needed.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain total store cleanliness standards.
• Assist and work in other departments as required. Other duties may be assigned.
• Participate in the culture of Belonging and Recognition.
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

Overview

PetSmart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon services, and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role shares responsibility for store cleanliness, recommending solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete PetSmart’s Splash training and safety certification program.

• Independently perform full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services (nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) according to PetSmart’s standards.

• Take action when a sick or injured pet is identified; arrange transport to the veterinarian as needed.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. Ability to reach with hands and arms; may include stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing. Depth perception required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with pet hair, and high noise levels. Exposure to live animals is common.
