Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a part-time PET/CT Technologist to join our mobile unit team near Somerville, NJ. You will perform PET/CT procedures, screen and prepare patients, and ensure safety and quality in a dynamic setting. This temporary/PRN role (<20 hours/week) supports radiology services across our mobile units.

Required credentials include NMTCB or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine, an accredited radiography program, state licensure if applicable, CPR, and a valid driver's license. Preferred CT certification and NMTCB PET specialty are a plus.

Qualifications

• NMTCB or ARRT registered in Nuclear Medicine and in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance.
• Training and experience to perform radiographic procedures independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform PET/CT procedures according to standards to assist diagnosis and treatment.
• Screen patients and prepare them for PET/CT, including patient positioning and communication.
• Adjust scan parameters, operate equipment, and maintain safety and quality records.
• Maintain RIS records and ensure compliance with ACR/AOA guidelines.
• Support imaging operations on mobile units near Somerville, NJ.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a part timePET/CT Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining the light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together.As a PET/CT Technologist, you will perform all Positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (PET/CT) procedures according to the established standards and protocols to provide quality patient care. You will also remain self-motivated to increase your level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

This is a Temporary/PRN position (<20/week) working on our mobile units, located in near Somerville, NJ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(75%) Patient Imaging

• Performs routine and advanced Positron emission tomography--computed tomography (PET/CT) procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats
• Screens patient before the procedure for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
• Explains and prepares patients for Positron emission tomography--computed tomography (PET/CT) procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
• Adjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
• Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
• Assesses, prepares, records and administers radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear
• Regulatory Commission and/or State regulations and departmental policies
• Administers fluorodioxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients
• Demonstrates knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services
• Reports contamination to Radiation Safety Officer
• Maintains accurate patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(20%) Imaging Support

• Performs general maintenance on PET/CT scanner and/or mobile scanner and truck
• Performs and records daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation
• Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures on
• PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines
• Troubleshoots when possible, and reports problems to supervisor
• Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance of radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State Regulations

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Required:

• NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiography
• Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Training and experience sufficient to competently perform radiographic procedures independently
• Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance

Preferred:

• ARRT certification in CT
• NMTCB PET Specialty certification
