Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group is seeking a part-time Pet Technician to meet with families about the care of their deceased pets and oversee respectful care, transportation, and return of companion animals entrusted to the company’s pet crematory service.

The role requires adherence to regulations, safety standards, and company policies, with duties including handling, documentation, and coordination with veterinary partners and pet families. Availability for evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Background check compliant with applicable law.
• Experience in veterinary services, animal care, or related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive pets from veterinary clinics, verify identification and documentation.
• Maintain accurate chain-of-custody records throughout the aftercare process.
• Affix and verify identification tags and tracking information.
• Ensure respectful handling of pets at all times.
• Assist with inventory management and supplies.
• Participate in on-call, weekend, or holiday schedules as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
