Job summary

PestCo is hiring a licensed IDPH Technician to manage pest control routes, apply treatments, and advise customers. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and effective solutions across West Chicago and Wilmette areas.

A $1,000 sign-on bonus awaits licensed technicians meeting employment milestones, with base hourly pay plus commissions and performance incentives. Strong customer service, driving responsibilities, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required, alongside background check and drug

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or equivalent.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform kneeling/bending tasks.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; background check and drug screen required.
• Experience in pest control preferred but not required.
• Proficient reading/writing; comfortable with iPad use and presenting information to customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate day-to-day pest control routes and apply pesticides per schedule and safety rules.
• Follow daily route schedule and arrive on time; company vehicle provided.
• Explain service scope to customers and discuss maintenance plans.
• Assist in sales and provide pest control recommendations and estimates.
• Use training to determine efficient pest solutions for each customer’s needs.
• Maintain equipment, PPE, paperwork, and vehicle in good condition.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Office Location: West Chicago, IL

Route Location: Chicago/ Wilmette and Surrounding Areas

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Occasional Saturdays)

Compensation: Base Hourly + Commissions

Key Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a pest control route. Apply pesticides to structures according to schedule, safety procedures and label instructions.
• Follow a daily schedule, ensuring timely arrival at each of your customer's home. A company vehicle is provided.
• Discuss the scope of service with the customer.
• Assist in sales.
• Utilize in-house training provided to decide the most efficient pest solution for your customer's needs.
• Provide your customers with the best pest control and eradication services in the industry.
• Recommend and provide estimates for one-time treatments and continual maintenance to new and existing customers.
• Complete all scheduled customer appointments on time in accordance with all applicable Company policies and local rules and regulations.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for customers by implementing the most efficient and overall best pest solution for each customer's individual needs.
• Use all safety equipment as instructed.
• Maintain professional appearance and equipment in working order including but not limited to vehicle, uniform, application equipment, PPE, paperwork, and literature etc.
• Devote your full attention and time, during working hours, to the performance of your duties and responsibilities as directed by your supervisor and the Company.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• $1,000 Sign on Bonus for Valid IDPH License.
• Strong Communication skills effectively through verbal, written and in person.
• Strong customer service and in-person presentation skills.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and be able to kneel and bend as necessary for a job.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Self-motivated and results driven.
• Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Pest Control experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence and be able to use an iPad (provided by the company)
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients and other employees.
