Job Overview

Join Ecolab's Pest Elimination team as a Pest Control Technician Trainee in San Francisco, CA. You will protect public health and commercial businesses by delivering science‑based pest elimination solutions. Through a 5‑week paid training program, you will gain skills and certifications for a long‑term career in service, sales, or management.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Participate in a 5‑week paid training program that covers pest detection, elimination, and prevention techniques.
• Establish effective relationships with commercial customers, including those in hospitality and food‑service industries.
• Partner with customers to identify and solve pest elimination needs.
• Maintain expertise in Ecolab's products and services to enhance service and sales.
• Use handheld computerized equipment to document structural, sanitation, and pest issues.
• Deliver timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality service under close supervision.
• Obtain required pest control licensing and/or certification as mandated by state/local law.

Position Details

• Location: San Francisco, CA
• Work Week & Shift: Night Shift; Sunday‑Thursday, 8 pm‑6 am (Rotating Weekends)
• Travel Requirement: 1‑week training in Eagan, MN during the training period; candidates must have proper flight documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of work or military experience.
• Current and valid Driver’s License with no restrictions.
• Availability to work overnight shifts and be on call during off‑hours and weekends as needed.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Will need to obtain pest certification and/or business licensing pursuant to state/local law.
• Ecolab conducts a background check and a drug test (including THC) for all candidates who receive a job offer.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Experience selling value‑added products to existing customers.
• Previous pest elimination industry or route experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds chest high.
• Wear and use a respirator.
• Work in confined spaces, damp/dusty areas, and extreme temperatures.
• Climb ladders and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
• Drive a company vehicle as required (ongoing motor vehicle record checks will be performed).

Compensation

Annual compensation range: $53,600 – $80,300. This includes base pay and target incentive based on performance after completion of the training program. Compensation is commensurate with experience, education, training, geography, and other factors. Minimum wage and overtime laws are complied with.
