Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Pest Control Technician to inspect client properties for infestations, apply approved products safely, and educate customers on prevention. You will build relationships, schedule appointments, and assist with sales while maintaining equipment and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or GED), a valid driver's license, and strong communication and math skills. Weekend availability may be required and travel by company vehicle is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence.
• Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
• Available to work Monday–Friday and weekends as needed.
• Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills – follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
• Customer-facing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
• Apply approved pest control products to eliminate pests while following safety standards.
• Educate customers on pest prevention methods and maintaining a pest-free environment.
• Provide advice on reducing the risk of future infestations.
• Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm appointments, and assist with sales.
• Ensure pest control equipment is maintained, stocked, and in good working condition.
• Adhere to all regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols.
• Drive and operate a company-provided service vehicle.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
• Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to effectively eliminate pests while adhering to safety standards.
• Educate customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest-free environment.
• Provide advice on how to reduce the risk of future infestations.
• Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm their appointments, help with sales to current customers, and expand our product to new customers.
• Ensure that all pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working condition.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols.
• Drive and safely operate a company provided service vehicle.

Requirements

• Clean shaven face – for safety reasons (rebreathers have to be able to seal your face).
• High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence.
• Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us).
• Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed.
• Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control.
• Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills – You’ll need to be able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
• Customer-facing experience preferred.
