Job summary

Denver Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) on a part-time basis. Under supervision, you will provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients, assist with admissions, and orient new patients and families to the unit.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED and BLS; two years' experience preferred. Strong communication, milieu management, and documentation skills are essential, with benefits and growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years' experience in the field or related area preferred or an equivalent combination required.
• BLS/BCLS - CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admissions, discharges, transfers and documentation.
• Transports patients and materials as needed; handles specimens and medications per RN instructions.
• Monitors and reports vital signs and abnormal findings to RN.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and supports a therapeutic environment.
• Engages with patients to provide respectful, supportive care and milieu management.
