SolutionHealth is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Psychiatric Emergency Program (PEP) in a 6-bed behavioral crisis unit. The role supports evaluation and treatment under the RN Charge Nurse, maintains a therapeutic milieu, and provides direct care to patients of all ages.

The position requires an associate degree or behavioral sciences certification, with 6 months of behavioral health experience preferred and aggression de-escalation training approved by EHS.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certification in behavioral sciences or equivalent coursework required
• 6 months experience in behavioral health setting preferred
• Aggression de-escalation training approved by EHS

Responsibilities

• Participates in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities
• Sets limits, confronts counterproductive behavior, and reassures and orients patients
• Performs safety checks and assists in managing therapeutic milieu
• Collaborates with other unit personnel with crisis intervention techniques
• Facilitates and leads community meetings and groups
