Suffolk County is seeking an ambitious Personnel Analyst Trainee to learn public personnel administration under supervision. The role offers structured in-service training during a one-year probationary period, with potential to achieve permanent competitive status thereafter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : :The work involves learning to perform entry level professional work in public personnel administration under the direct supervision of a Personnel Analyst or Senior Personnel Analyst. The employee works closely with professional superiors in learning all aspects of work but may function with limited technical independence on the more routine aspects of work as the employee becomes familiar with them. Problems encountered are referred to a superior for direction and guidance. All work is subject to review through frequent consultation and examination of work performed. The term of probation is one (1) year, during which time employees will be required to satisfactorily complete a supervised in-service training program. After one (1) year of continuous service as a permanent Personnel Analyst Trainee, the employee in this class achieves permanent competitive status as a Personnel Analyst without further examination. ** Does related work as required.

Necessary Special Requirement At the time of appointment and during employment as a Personnel Analyst Trainee and Personnel Analyst employees must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
