Job summary

Herring Bank is hiring a Trust Officer I or II for Personal Trust administration within Wealth Management. The role supports or independently administers trusts, estates, IRAs, and other fiduciary accounts, ensuring compliance with governing documents and OCC guidelines.

The position involves client interaction, collaboration with attorneys and advisors, and potential handling of non-traditional assets. Employment is full-time in Amarillo, TX with standard business hours and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and relevant trust experience, or HS diploma with extensive trust experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Administer or assist with a portfolio of personal trust and fiduciary accounts.
• Serve as primary/secondary contact for clients, beneficiaries, and advisors.
• Prepare and review documents including opening and transfer documents and beneficiary designations.
• Review trust instruments, court orders, tax forms, wills, and related docs.
• Process distributions and account transactions in line with governing documents.
• Monitor liquidity, tax obligations, and distributions; track key dates like RMDs.
• Coordinate information for fiduciary tax return preparation and documentation.
• Work with oil/gas, real estate, private businesses, and other non-traditional assets.
• Collaborate with Wealth Management on investment suitability and client service.
• Assist with audits and regulatory examinations; support business development and client relationships.
