Job summary

Goodwin Living in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a fitness professional to lead group exercise classes and provide 1:1 personal training for residents. You will collaborate with the Program Director and support community programming while delivering engaging, safe workouts tailored to older adults.

Qualified candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, a degree in kinesiology or related fields is preferred, and active certifications (ACE/NASM/ACSM/NSCA) with 1–2 years of relevant experience or

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in kinesiology, biology or related field.
• Certification as a personal trainer (ACE, NASM, ACSM or NSCA) must be current.
• 1–2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead group exercise classes for residents in care settings.
• Provide 1:1 personal training sessions with clients.
• Assist the Program Director in projects supporting the department.
• Participate in community education/exercise events.
• Adapt classes to fit healthcare center and AL/IL building needs.

Salary

$30-$35 hour

About The Position

Lead group exercise classes and provide personal training sessions as needed.

Job Duties

• Assist the Program Director(s) in projects that support the department.
• Support Community Programming by participating in various educational/exercise themed events.
• Provide 1:1 personal training sessions with clients
• Teach group exercise classes in health care center and AL/IL building as needed

Job Requirements

• Basic Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); preferred education requirement: Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, biology or similar; Pre-PT or Pre-OT student preferred
• Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Personal training certification through ACE, NASM, ACSM, or NSCA that is kept up to date
