Job summary

YMCA seeks a part-time wellness associate to work with members seeking small group or individual fitness guidance and basic wellness information. You will help new members design programs and promote healthy living within the community.

Responsibilities include safety for members, driving engagement, offering orientations and assessments, and maintaining clean facilities while upholding YMCA policies and contributing to annual campaigns.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required
• Nationally recognized personal training certification from approved YMCA list upon hire
• Wellness certifications to be completed within defined timelines
• Must pass Level 2 Background Screening (FDLE/FBI fingerprint check)

• Generate personal training revenue via individual and small-group sessions
• Encourage member interaction
• Contributes to branch engagement metrics

• Meet goals for Fast Forward Fitness appointments
• Contribute to branch member retention
• Develop small-group interaction through planned and spontaneous programming
• Ensure cleanliness of facilities and equipment
• Articulate YMCA mission and participate in annual campaign
• Maintain weekly time/attendance records and adhere to dress code

Summary:

Works directly with members who seek small group or individual fitness attention to achieve their wellness goals. Assists new members with basic fitness program design and wellness information.

Essential Functions:

• 1. Works to improving the health and well-being of the community the YMCA serves.
• 2. Improves member safety and enjoyment.
• 3. Generates personal training revenue through cutting edge individual and small-group training sessions.
• 4. Encourages member interaction.
• 5. Contributes to the Daxko Engagement % for the branch.
• 6. Provides hands-on wellness services including orientations, fitness assessments, post- rehabilitation and adaptive wellness.
• 7. Meets established goal for Fast Forward Fitness appointments.
• 8. Contributes to the branch member retention rate.
• 9. Develops small-group interaction through planned and spontaneous programming.
• 10. Ensures the cleanliness of facilities and equipment.
• 11. Articulates the Y's mission in order to provide assistance to all and participates in the annual campaign.
• 12. Acts professionally. Maintains accurate weekly time and attendance records. Adheres to dress code, attendance, and punctuality standards.
• 13. Completes annual trainings in a timely manner (Redwoods, CPR, First
  Aid, etc.)
• 14. Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention.
• 15. Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
• 16. Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities.

Qualifications:

• 1. Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED
• 2. Nationally recognized accredited personal training certification from approved YMCA list upon hire.
• 3. YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire (available through Leadership University).
• 4. Wellness 101 within 60 days of hire (available through Leadership University).
• 5. Must pass Level 2 Background Screening. Level 2 is a fingerprint check of state and federal criminal history information conducted through the Florida Department of law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). https://info.flclearinghouse.com
