Summary

Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the Personal Trainer is responsible for designing and leading a safe, efficient, and enjoyable workout for all participants. Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour DOQ; Days and hours dependent on training schedule.

Essential Job Functions

1. Leading appropriate exercise activities, which includes designing, teaching, and demonstrating exercises based on the principles of exercise physiology.
2. Implementing proper procedures in the event of an emergency, which includes administering CPR and First Aid as needed.
3. Frequent coaching to the participants during the exercise, which includes verbal praising, individual correction of technique, monitoring effort and performance.
4. Making modifications for participants with lower fitness levels or limited physical ability.
5. Demonstrating a variety of motivational strategies which encourage participants to do their best.
6. Keeping accurate records, which includes documenting training dates, verifying receipt payment and administering participant evaluations as assigned.
7. Demonstrating proper use of exercise equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Certification as a Personal Trainer (A.C.E., A.C.S.M., N.A.S.M. or N.S.C.A. acceptable).
2. First Aid and CPR certification.
