Job summary

YMCA Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan seeks a certified personal trainer to join a team dedicated to energizing, safe and educational services for our community.

In this part-time role with potential to become full-time, you will lead individual or small-group sessions, assess wellness, demonstrate correct exercises, and adapt programs to member goals.

You will report to the Wellness Director, work within YMCA policies, and enjoy benefits such as a free membership and CEU reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• National Certification in Personal Training is required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Two years of experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead one-on-one or small-group training sessions safely and effectively.
• Assess member fitness levels and tailor programs.
• Demonstrate exercises with clear instruction and proper form.
• Promote and sell personal training services to meet session goals.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends and YMCA policies.
