Qualifications

Job Summary

The Fitness Coach represents 24 Hour Fitness to members and clients by delivering a positive fitness experience and quality personal and small group training sessions, leading to member retention and client acquisition. The coach leverages experience and education to deliver premium programming and consultation in person.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Service and Train Clients:
    • Design and deliver comprehensive fitness programs based on clients' goals, including exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle guidance.
    • Inform clients of fitness tools to help achieve their goals.
    • Set expectations, hold clients accountable, and track progress.
    • Demonstrate safe exercise techniques.
    • Be punctual, prepared, enthusiastic, and attentive during sessions.
    • Meet productivity expectations for servicing clients and group sessions.
    • Increase attendance through strong teaching and motivation skills.
  2. Service Members and Administration:
    • Assist in fitness seminars, training days, and assessments.
    • Build a fitness business through new client acquisition and retention.
    • Onboard new members with professional recommendations.
    • Coach proper equipment use and exercise techniques.
    • Manage scheduling and maintain cleanliness and organization.
    • Create and update client progress records.
    • Schedule sessions and appointments in advance.
Organization Relationships

Reports to the General Manager and interacts with all club staff levels.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of physical fitness and proper exercise techniques.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate fitness equipment.
  • Ability to perform various exercise routines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Minimum Educational Level/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CPR and AED certifications through in-person training.
  • Degree or certification from a nationally accredited organization.
  • Specialized fitness credentials preferred.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 1 year as a Personal Trainer or Fitness Coach.
  • Experience in holistic fitness program design is a plus.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Physical effort includes lifting, squatting, reaching, spotting, jumping, and standing for long periods.
Working Environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally loud noise levels.
  • Extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
