Job Summary

The Personal Trainer interprets and evaluates client needs, plans, implements, and leads integrated individualized and small group exercise programs for clients at all levels, utilizing a broad range of fitness and rehabilitation techniques. The Personal Trainer supports and motivates clients to exercise and encourages them to live healthier lifestyles.

Qualifications

  • Evaluates client health history questionnaires to determine appropriate individual exercise programs.
  • Interprets physiological assessment data and post-rehabilitation recommendations from referring medical providers/therapists to determine client requirements.
  • Performs follow-up communication with clients as needed.
  • Tracks client progress and maintains accurate client files.
  • Ensures adherence to safety and injury prevention policies; prepares accident reports as required.
  • Manages Personal and Group Training schedules two weeks in advance.
  • Ensures clients are fully paid before session packages begin.
  • Stays informed of the latest trends in health, nutrition, fitness, and exercise.
  • Enforces club policies and procedures appropriately.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Manager.
  • Keeps certifications current and provides proof during annual reviews.

Additional Job Details

  • Qualifications:
  • Certified in Personal Training or Corrective Exercise from NASM, ACE, NSCA, or ACSM.
  • CPR certification
  • AED certification
  • Minimum of one year experience required.
  • Customer service oriented.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional and outgoing demeanor.
  • Ability to motivate and work with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency with computers, preferably Windows-based.
  • Knowledge of strength, cardiovascular training, and exercise physiology.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive fitness programs.
  • Experience with Fitness Assessments including blood pressure and heart rate measurement.
