Description

We are looking for dedicated Personal Trainers to support our community. Our philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach, focusing on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Our Trainers aim to provide impactful experiences, helping members reach their goals and develop lasting relationships within a supportive community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Mission and Vision of the YMCA and foster community engagement.
  • Build a personal training clientele through one-on-one and small group sessions.
  • Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and clear explanations.
  • Develop positive relationships with members, offering motivation and guidance.
  • Participate in Trainer Education Lectures and other professional development activities.
  • Track and monitor client progress regularly.
  • Follow up with clients consistently and meet or exceed monthly session goals.
  • Promote personal training services via outreach, demonstrations, and events.
  • Operate equipment safely and report issues promptly.
  • Support gym operations as needed, including working shifts on the gym floor.
  • Adhere to YMCA policies and complete necessary reports and trainings.
Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements
  • Degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred but not mandatory.
  • Nationally accredited certification (e.g., NSCA, ACSM, NASM).
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and ambitious personality.
  • Ability to perform fitness assessments and design progressive exercise programs.
  • Effective instructional and observational skills.
  • Ability to create safe, effective exercise programs and recognize member limitations.
  • Strong sales skills to promote personal training benefits.
  • Proficiency with member management software.
  • Commitment to an inclusive, welcoming environment.
  • Reliable, dependable, flexible, and safety-conscious with quick reaction skills in emergencies.
