We are currently hiring Full-Time Personal Support Workers (PSW) for Community Care in Jarvis

Return of Service (ROS)

: $10,000 to recent PSW graduates in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work full-time in a long-term care home or within the community.

Status:

PT days (7am to 12pm)

Qualifications accepted to work as a PSW:
  • Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
  • RN or RPN
  • Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
  • Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
  • Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse, Physician
Requirements:
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Current CPR Certificate level C
  • Current immunization record (TB test within the past 12 months)
  • Current vulnerable sector check screening
  • Availability to work days (10am to 5pm) including weekends
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting (up to 55 pounds), walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.
To be eligible for the PSW ROS, a Personal Support Worker must:
New Graduates:
  • Complete an Ontario PSW training program meeting 2022 standards, on or after April 1, 2023;
  • Begin employment between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2026;
  • Commit to 12 months of full-time employment.
Previous Graduates (NEW):
  • Have previously trained as a PSW;
  • Have not worked in a direct care role in Ontario in the past 12 months;
  • Begin employment between November 18, 2024, and March 31, 2026;
  • Commit to 12 months of full-time employment.
