Return of Service (ROS)
: $10,000 to recent PSW graduates in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work full-time in a long-term care home or within the community.
Status:
PT days (7am to 12pm)

Qualifications accepted to work as a PSW:
- Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
- RN or RPN
- Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
- Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
- Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse, Physician
Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle.
- Current CPR Certificate level C
- Current immunization record (TB test within the past 12 months)
- Current vulnerable sector check screening
- Availability to work days (10am to 5pm) including weekends
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting (up to 55 pounds), walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.
To be eligible for the PSW ROS, a Personal Support Worker must:
New Graduates:
- Complete an Ontario PSW training program meeting 2022 standards, on or after April 1, 2023;
- Begin employment between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2026;
- Commit to 12 months of full-time employment.
Previous Graduates (NEW):
- Have previously trained as a PSW;
- Have not worked in a direct care role in Ontario in the past 12 months;
- Begin employment between November 18, 2024, and March 31, 2026;
- Commit to 12 months of full-time employment.
