Job summary

Marion County is seeking a Property Valuation Analyst to perform technical analysis and valuation of assessable property in accordance with Oregon statutes. You will handle confidential return reviews, communicate with taxpayers, and use Excel and appraisal systems to ensure accurate data and reporting.

The role involves assisting with personal property appeals, developing internal procedures, and coordinating with the Appraisal Supervisor and County Assessor.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with major course work in accounting, real estate or a related field.
• One year of technical/appraisal, research/analysis experience or professional fiscal management or accounting experience.
• Any satisfactory combination of work, education, training, or experience relevant to the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analysis and valuation of property per statutes.
• Review confidential returns and ensure accuracy.
• Communicate with taxpayers by phone, email, in person to obtain verifications and explain requirements.
• Use Excel and valuation systems to organize data and verify calculations.
• Prepare correspondence and maintain internal procedures related to personal property processes.
• Assist with personal property appeals and track status and deadlines.
