Job summary

Mutual Capital Services, Inc. is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter Trainee in a full‑time role with flexible work location. The position offers an entry or skilled level, commensurate with experience, and pays $20.00 to $25.00 hourly.

You will support the Personal Lines Underwriting Team, assist with underwriting decisions, process policies and endorsements, and help ensure compliance with company policies. Travel may be required, and benefits include PTO, health options, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalency.
• Comparable work experience in insurance, financial services or a related industry, preferred.
• Proficient interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
• Efficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Support Personal Lines Underwriting Team with growth, profit and loss objectives.
• Assist with Personal line underwriting: selection of applicants, classification and determination of proper coverage, determination of appropriate rate or premium, producer and policyholder service.
• Processing of policies, endorsements and cancellations.
• Understudy of professional staff.
• Assuring that Company policies and standards are adhered to.
• Support departmental projects as needed.
• Developing new Personal Lines business.
