Position Summary
The Personal Lines Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the personal lines department, ensuring efficient workflow, exceptional client service, and achievement of departmental goals. This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of personal lines insurance products and services.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of personal lines account managers and support staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage staffing levels and ensure adequate coverage.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and best practices.
- Departmental Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the personal lines department.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows and procedures.
- Monitor and manage department performance metrics and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and insurance regulations.
- Manage and maintain agency management systems.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Ensure exceptional client service and satisfaction.
- Handle escalated client issues and resolve complex problems.
- Monitor client feedback and implement strategies to improve service delivery.
- Ensure proper handling of client renewals, policy changes, and claims.
- Sales and Growth:
- Collaborate with sales teams to drive personal lines growth.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell insurance products.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase client retention.
- Underwriting and Carrier Relations:
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers.
- Stay informed about underwriting guidelines and policy changes.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of applications and policy documents.
- Work with underwriters to improve placement of difficult risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
- 10 years of experience in personallines insurance, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Valid [State] insurance license.
