Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage carrier activity reports and renewals; assist with reinstatements or direct to Account Manager.
  • Assist with payment processing and billing questions for Personal Lines clients.
  • Pull renewals from carrier sites and assign to Account Manager.
  • Process Mortgagee changes and send Auto ID Cards per procedures.
  • Identify account rounding opportunities and communicate with the Account Manager.
  • Interact with clients via in-person, phone, and email; maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.

Title: Personal Lines Account Associate
Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: Greenbelt, MD
Job Summary:

The Personal Lines Account Associate is responsible for providing front end processing assistance and support to Personal Lines Account Managers within the Personal Lines Department. The Personal Lines Account Associate performs the essential functions of the position noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Manages carrier daily activity reports and daily download cancellations from Agency Management System using established agency procedures. Duties include reaching out to clients to reinstate policies. If unable to reinstate, client is directed to the Account Manager or an Account Executive to rewrite the policy.
  • Assists with payment processing and billing questions for Personal Lines clients.
  • Pulls renewals from carrier sites that do not download into Agency Management System and assigns to the Account Manager.
  • Assists with processing of Mortgagee changes per the agency procedures.
  • Assists with sending Auto ID Cards to clients per agency procedures.
  • Identifies account rounding opportunities and notifies the Account Manager.
  • Interacts with clients in person, via telephone and via email.
  • Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts to maintain a high level of client retention and product loyalty.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of activities and other responsibilities.
  • Stays up to date with industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Actively seek ways to improve client services and communicate ideas for improved client service to superior positions.
  • Follows agency and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Other job-related dues as may be assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Skilled in developing excellent inter-personal and client relations; producing effective, accurate verbal and written communication, and active listening with strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, applying knowledge and experience to achieve outstanding results.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures and help develop new processes and procedures to help the agency become more efficient.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be willing to obtain Property & Casualty Agents License within 12 months of hire.

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, listen, and observe. Specifically, the employee must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone with others.
  • This position frequently communicates with clients who have inquiries about their policy, invoicing, and claims. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This includes repeating motions that involve the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Position may require the employee to ascend and/or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like.
  • Fast-paced environment with a high volume of work to be completed daily.
  • Limited physical effort required or exposure to physical risk. However, must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
