Job summary

Pushchak Law Firm in Denver, CO seeks an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys through intake, pre-litigation, litigation, and settlement. You will independently manage a significant caseload in an in-office, fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes medical record retrieval and summarization, damages calculations, demand letters, and comprehensive litigation support, including e-filing and lien coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal in a plaintiffs' firm.
• Experience with medical record retrieval and medical chronology/summarization.
• Working knowledge of Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure and Colorado Rules of Evidence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
• Strong understanding of insurance claims processes, including auto (PIP/UM/UIM), homeowners, and general liability coverage.
• Excellent written communication skills, including demand letter and correspondence drafting.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage 75+ active case files simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution.
• Conduct medical record retrieval and review/summarization, including tracking records and billing.
• Calculate and prepare damages summaries with medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage.
• Draft and send demand letters to insurance adjusters on liability and UIM claims.
• Provide litigation support: pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and deposition summaries.
• Coordinate medical lien resolution and negotiate lien reductions at settlement.
• Manage e-filing through ICCES and, where applicable, CM/ECF and PACER.
• Maintain organized case files in FileVine; consider Clio, Neos, or Litify as needed.
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, adjusters, and opposing counsel.
• Assist attorneys with deposition and trial preparation and witness coordination.
• Track statutes of limitations, court deadlines, and discovery deadlines using calendaring systems.

Job description

Pushchak Law Firm, a Denver-based plaintiffs' personal injury practice handling motor vehicle accident, dog bite, and premises liability matters, is hiring an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support our attorneys across the full case lifecycle — from intake and pre-litigation through litigation, discovery, and settlement or trial. This is a full-time, in-office role for a self-starter who can independently manage a significant caseload with minimal supervision.

What You'll Do

• Manage a caseload of pre-litigation and litigation personal injury matters (motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, premises liability) from intake through resolution
• Conduct medical record retrieval and medical record review/summarization, including requesting, tracking, and organizing records and billing from hospitals, providers, and imaging centers
• Calculate and prepare damages summaries, including medical expense totals, lost wage documentation, and property damage
• Draft and send demand letters to insurance adjusters on liability and UIM claims
• Provide litigation support: draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and deposition summaries
• Coordinate medical lien resolution (Medicare, Medicaid, hospital liens, ERISA liens) and negotiate lien reductions at settlement
• Manage e-filing through Colorado state court e-filing (ICCES) and, where applicable, federal CM/ECF and PACER
• Maintain organized case files in our case management software (FileVine preferred; Clio, Neos, or Litify experience also considered)
• Communicate directly and empathetically with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
• Assist attorneys with deposition and trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination
• Track statutes of limitations, court deadlines, and discovery deadlines using firm calendaring systems

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal in a plaintiffs' firm (pre-litigation and/or litigation)
• Demonstrated experience with medical record retrieval and medical chronology/summarization
• Working knowledge of Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure and Colorado Rules of Evidence
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software
• Strong understanding of insurance claims processes, including auto (PIP/UM/UIM), homeowners, and general liability coverage

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or Associate's/bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies
• NALA or NFPA paralegal certification (CP, RP, or PACE)
• Direct experience with FileVine case management software
• Experience with Westlaw, Bluebook citation format, and federal CM/ECF/PACER filing
• Experience negotiating Medicare/Medicaid lien reductions and ERISA liens

Salary range: $60,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience.
