Job summary

The Advocates in San Diego seeks an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to take ownership of an established plaintiff-side caseload and contribute to the growth of our San Diego practice. You’ll inherit active cases but work with a dedicated support team to move matters toward favorable resolutions.

Must have a J.D., active California Bar, and 5+ years of PI experience with a proven ability to manage a substantial caseload and negotiate strong settlements.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• 5+ years of personal injury experience.
• Proven ability to independently manage a substantial plaintiff-side caseload.
• Strong negotiation, case evaluation, advocacy, and client communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and keep cases moving in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Own your cases from intake through resolution, set case strategy, maintain client relationships, keep documentation current, and move toward the best outcome.
• Negotiate settlements, evaluate claims, and coordinate with billing/reductions teams as cases near resolution.
• Help shape a growing litigation team as the San Diego practice expands and plays a larger role in the office.

Compensation: $160,000–$200,000 DOE + Performance-Based Bonus

The Advocates Personal Injury Law is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to take ownership of an established plaintiff-side caseload and play an important role in the continued growth of our San Diego practice.

This is an opportunity for an attorney who enjoys practicing law, negotiating meaningful outcomes for clients, and helping build something. Our San Diego presence is growing, and we're looking for someone who wants to become a key part of that growth—strengthening our reputation in the community, developing referral relationships, and helping us expand our litigation capabilities over time.

You’ll inherit an active caseload, but you won't be managing it alone. Our attorneys are supported by dedicated teams across the lifecycle of a case so they can focus their time where their legal judgment and advocacy matter most.

What You'll Do

Own Your Cases & Client Relationships

Take responsibility for an established plaintiff-side personal injury caseload from intake through resolution. Set case strategy, maintain strong client relationships, keep documentation current, and ensure cases continue moving toward the best possible outcome.

Negotiate & Advocate

Evaluate claims, develop negotiation strategies, work toward strong settlements, and collaborate with our bill resolution & reductions teams as cases move toward resolution.

Help Shape a Growing Litigation Team

As our San Diego practice expands, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the local litigation function and make a meaningful impact on how the office grows.

What We’re Looking For

Required

J.D. from an accredited law school

Active California Bar license in good standing

5+ years of personal injury experience

Proven ability to independently manage a substantial plaintiff-side caseload

Strong negotiation, case evaluation, advocacy, and client communication skills

Ability to prioritize effectively and keep cases moving in a high-volume environment
