Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of legal experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle a caseload from intake through resolution, possess strong negotiation and courtroom skills, and demonstrate a client-centered approach. This role offers exposure to a broad range of PI matters, including vehicle collisions, premises liability, product liability, and medical malpractice, with opportunities for growth into complex litigation, trial practice, or specialized PI tracks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case management: Independently manage a docket of personal injury matters from intake, through investigation, demand, settlement, mediation, and litigation as needed.
  • Client communication: Maintain proactive, compassionate client contact; explain legal processes, status updates, and potential outcomes clearly.
  • Investigation and evidence gathering: Conduct factual investigations, gather medical records, police reports, witness statements, and expert referrals; preserve and organize case file materials.
  • Legal drafting: Prepare demand letters, settlement letters, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Legal research: Research substantive and procedural law relevant to causation, liability, damages, and applicable statutes of limitations.
  • Negotiation and settlement: Negotiate fair settlements with insurers or opposing counsel; evaluate settlement offers and advise clients accordingly.
  • Litigation support: File and manage cases in state/federal courts as appropriate; coordinate with paralegals, experts, and court staff; assist with depositions and trial preparation as needed.
  • Medical/ damages focus: Assess damages (medical specials, lost wages, future care, pain and suffering) and prepare documentation to communicate value clearly.
  • Case analytics: Track case metrics (settlement values, days to resolution, cost-to-recovery) and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Compliance and ethics: Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards, confidentiality, and applicable state bar rules.
  • Professional development: Participate in CLEs, internal training, and knowledge-sharing to stay current on PI law and practice trends.
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; in good standing.
  • 1–3 years of practical experience in personal injury law (plaintiff or defense) or closely related fields.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills; ability to draft clear legal documents and negotiate effectively.
  • Solid understanding of relevant statutes of limitations, evidentiary rules, and court procedures.
  • Demonstrated client-service orientation and ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with case management systems, document management, and standard office software (Microsoft 365). Prior use of legal practice management tools is a plus.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with paralegals, experts, and support staff.
  • Judgment, resilience, and a commitment to ethical practice.
