Job description

Role Overview

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide a variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and other electronic modes of communication such as web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑based communications.
• Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations to which the counselor is assigned.
• Participate in regular in‑services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered).
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Must pass the ConGressional Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.\
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Benefits

Salary range: $58,440–$93,500 (adjusted based on individual skills, experience, education, and other job‑related factors). This position may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, voluntary and other benefits.
