Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions, enabling individuals to remain in their own homes.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Report observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Notify the Agency Director immediately of any incidents or accidents.
  • Drive safely, comply with traffic regulations, and wear a seat belt during business travel.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, hair care, denture care, nail care, skin care, and transfers between bed, chair, wheelchair, bedpan, and toilet.
  • Assist with household tasks essential to the client's personal care.

Education and Experience

Experience Desired

  • Six months of home care experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of a competency evaluation.

License Requirements

  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
  • Current CPR certification.

State Specific Requirements

  • For FL: Successful completion of at least forty hours of training as required by the Agency for Health Care Administration or passing the home health aide competency test (Form AHCA 3110-1007).

Skill Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet client needs.
  • Ability to work independently in various home situations, regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
  • Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
