Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Caregiver - On-Call

Job Summary

Provides direct resident care, completes assignments as a universal worker, assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents, and upholds Prestige’s core values of respect, integrity, commitment, and trust.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct resident care, promoting dignity, independence, and choice; observes residents’ physical and mental conditions; reports changes to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assists with or performs ADLs, takes vital signs and weights, and documents care and observations accurately.
• Assists residents with dining, activities, and transfers, and responds promptly to assistance requests.
• Performs First Aid and emergency procedures as needed.
• Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously; answers phones when assigned.
• Supports fire safety and infection control practices; reports unsafe conditions.
• Serves meals, assists with dining, and helps with kitchen and dining room cleanup.
• Assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and coordinate personal care services with team members.
• Performs housekeeping and laundry services for residents.
• Attends training, staff meetings, and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days; state-required training including Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR, and HIV training if prior documentation is unavailable. Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; one or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current First Aid and CPR certifications; Food Handlers permit if required by state.
