Job Summary

Provides direct resident care, completes assignments as a universal worker, assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents, and upholds Prestige’s core values of respect, integrity, commitment, and trust.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct resident care while promoting resident dignity, independence, and choice. Observes residents’ physical and mental conditions, reporting changes to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assists with or performs ADLs, takes vital signs and weights, and documents care services and observations accurately. Reports incidents and accidents immediately.
• Assists residents to and from dining and activities.
• Performs First Aid and initiates emergency response procedures as needed.
• Greets residents, visitors, staff courteously, and answers phones when assigned.
• Supports community fire safety and infection control practices, reporting unsafe conditions promptly.
• Serves meals, assists residents during meals, delivers trays, and helps with dining room and kitchen cleanup.
• Assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, transfers, and coordinates personal care with co-workers, responding promptly to assistance requests.
• Assists with apartment housekeeping and resident laundry.
• Attends training, in-services, and staff meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment. Must have or obtain state-required training including the Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR, and HIV training if prior documentation is unavailable. Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred, with at least one year of personal care experience with older adults.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current First Aid and CPR certifications. Food Handler permit if required by state.
