Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. seeks a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) II to perform and assist with personal care ADLs/IADLs for participants in the PACE program across center, home, or virtual delivery.

The PCA II supports PCA I and collaborates with IDT members to implement the plan of care and address participant needs. The role requires CNA training and California certification, a high school diploma (or some college), and a willingness to obtain required certifications within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Aide education and training.
• Nurse Assistant Certificate by the State of California.
• High school diploma or some college education preferred.
• California Food Handler Certificate required within 30 days of employment.
• Prior experience with elderly patients strongly preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred depending on location.
• Valid BLS or higher certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with personal care ADLs/IADLs for PACE participants.
• Support care coordination and reporting; assist care teams.
• Communicate with IDT and care staff to implement the plan.
• Assist across center, home, and virtual care platforms as needed.

Job Overview

The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) II will perform and assist with personal care ADLs/IADLs for participants in the PACE across all platforms of delivery of care, like center and/or in the home, or virtually. The PCA II must be able to perform the job duties of a PCA I if assigned. In addition, the PCA II supports the PCA III in the gathering and reporting information related to the care coordination, participants’ ability to engage, maintain/improve their ability, foster independence, maintain function, or improve socialization, or satisfaction. The PCA II communicates and collaborates with IDT members or other PACE staff in the goals of the plan of care, focusing on needs (like participant supplies or tools), health status, physical, and mental well-being.

Minimum Requirements

Certified Nursing Aide education and training. Nurse Assistant Certificate by the State of California, Department of Health and Human Services-Aid and Technician Certification. High school diploma required or some college education/credits preferred. California Food Handler Certificate of Achievement upon employment preferred, must be attained within 30 days of employment. Prior experience working with physically or mentally impaired older people is strongly preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location, preferred. Experience working with the elderly patient population. A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

Compensation $25.00 - $29.32 hourly Compensation Disclaimer Actual salary offers are considered by various factors, including budget, experience, skills, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. The range is subject to change.
