Job summary

CCRES Educational & Behavioral Health Services is hiring a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in the William Penn School District for the 2026-2027 year. The role provides one-to-one and small group academic support along with behavioral interventions for students, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorders in a school setting.

Starting pay is generous at $20 per hour with paid credentials and TB screening. PCAs work full days aligned to the school calendar, with hours roughly 7:30/8:30 am to

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with school aged children preferred.
  • Experience with autism and/or other special needs preferred.
  • Clearances (PA Child Abuse Act 151, PA Criminal Act 34) and TB screening within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them participate in classroom activities and access the educational environment.
  • Implement interventions focused on behavior management, conflict resolution and peer interactions per IEP/Positive Behavioral Support plans.
  • Gather daily data and maintain progress notes for each session.
  • Provide direct assistance to students to fulfill academic, social, emotional, and personal care needs.

SUMMARY

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position is a field employee position providing one-to-one and small group academic support and behavioral interventions to students in a school setting within William Penn School District. We specialize in serving children primarily diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as other special needs diagnoses.

  • Generous hourly starting pay rate of $20 per hour
SCHEDULE
  • PCAs will work on all student days, full day, during the school calendar year
  • General school hours approximately: 7:30am - 2:30pm (secondary) or 8:30am - 3:30pm (elementary)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them participate in classroom activities, manage behavioral interventions, manage personal care, and access to educational environment as it aligns with the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Implement timely interventions focusing on behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and enhancing peer interaction skills, according to the goals outlined in the IEP or positive behavioral support plan set by Special Education team.
  • Gather daily data and maintain progress notes in the designated format for each session with the child or adolescent.
  • Offer direct assistance to students to fulfill their academic, social, emotional, and/or personal care requirements.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma OR equivalency
  • Experience working with school aged children - preferred
  • Experience with autism and/or other special needs - preferred
CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS

Clearances within 12 months

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI
  • TB Screening (within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
